Playful Pleasures - Festival 2010
We are delighted to present the syllabus for the PTF Festival for 2010. The theme this year is Playful Pleasures. We as a committee wanted something broad enough to encompass a wide variety of styles and cover the four major periods. There are pieces ranging from simple games to scherzos and etudes, from Scarlatti to Billy Joel….and all of them connoting fun and enjoyment. Although a few of the pieces have appeared on earlier syllabi, we tried hard to find new materials. Sheet music editions are indicated if available; however, any edition may be used. We feel these are selections that students at all levels will like to play and hope that you enjoy teaching them. For the festival, one selection will come from the syllabus, and then another of your choice in a contrasting style or period.
As usual, the October meeting will be devoted to the playing of the syllabus. Be sure to print out and bring your copy. Additional copies will be available for $2.00 at the meeting.
